Natural Dyeing, a TWO DAY course
Saturday and Sunday both, the 22nd & 23rd of June, 11am-4pm. 150€ all materials provided

Skill level: beginner and beyond

This 2 day course will challenge you to produce a dye for your wool from the plants and flowers right outside your door. You’ll learn the entire process from preparing the wool for dyeing, foraging for botanicals, and making and using the dye bath from these materials. You’ll be amazed at the end results and will go home with at least 2 naturally dyed skeins of wool. Spaces will be limited so please reserve yours early. Sandra will hold the workshop at Irish Fibre Crafters, Ardrahan, County Galway. All materials will be provided for you, but bring a packed lunch.

About your tutor

Sandra King has been interested and involved with fibre crafts all her life. She moved to Ireland from the United States 15 years ago, bought sheep, and uses their fleece in her spinning, weaving and knitting. Sandra loves using garden flowers and local sustainably foraged plants in dyeing.

Please note:
Classes and workshops are generally limited to 6 people, please book early to avoid disappointment

Materials are provided for all workshops and classes. Tea, coffee, biscuits provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch.

Deposits equal to half the price are essential in order to hold your place in these small workshops/classes. Please note that deposits are nonrefundable.

Public transport: the 51 bus (Cork/Galway) stops right in front of the Irish Fibre Crafters studio just about every hour, daily. Ardrahan train station (with occasional times) is a 5 minute drive from the studio, but it is a road with no good verge, so please let us bring you from/to the station rather than attempt the walk.

Driving? Irish Fibre Crafters is just 5 minutes off of the Ardrahan exit
